About the Currency

The symbol for the Czech Koruna is Kč – shorthand for the official Czech name, "koruny české". The currency replaced the old system back in '93 when the country became the Czech Republic. Whilst the country is part of the European Union, it is not currently using the Euro, as the majority of the population prefers to keep using the Koruna.

Banknotes include 100, 200, 500, 1000, and 2000 Kč with coins including 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Kč.
