About the Currency

After WWII in 1945 when Korea was divided, the two countries created separate currencies both with the name 'won'. The currency has gone through a series of changes and valuations over the years, but ultimately, remains under the same name.

Banknotes include 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, and ₩50,000 with the coins including 10, 50, 100, and ₩500.
