Ukrainian Hryvnia Betting Sites & Online Casinos

The Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) - also 'hryvnya' - has been the official currency of the Ukraine since September of 1996 and is named after a measure of weight used in the medieval Kievan Rus'. Whilst the Republic of Crimea used to use the hryvnia as their currency, they have since dropped it to officially use the Russian Ruble following its annexation to Russia, however, the UAH is often still widely accepted in the breakaway Crimea republics of Donetsk and Luhansk.

In terms of gambling sites that allow deposits in UAH, you won't find many, however, Casino Cruise provides a great option for those looking for a trustworthy online casino that deals in the Ukrainian currency. Casino Cruise, which accepts UAH, offers table games like Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and various poker games, as well as video slots, and all of your favourite classic slots.

About the Currency

When Ukrainian National Republic declared independence from their Russian counterparts, the currency was renamed to what it is now, hryvnia, however, it was not until 1996 that it replaced the karbovanets currency.

The Ukrainian hryvnia is subdivided into 100 kopiyok with the symbol for the currency being ₴. Banknotes include ₴1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 with coins including 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 kopiyok, as well as a ₴1 coin, however, this coin is rarely ever found.
