About the Currency

The US Mint was founded in 1792 with the first coins being modeled after the Spanish dollar with new money in print each year since the currency was first brought into circulation. Featured on each bill and notes are a range of US presidents and other historical figures, such as Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill.

US Dollar bank notes include $1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 with $2 available, however, these are rarely found anymore. For coins, there are 1, 5, 10, and 25¢ with 50¢ and $1 coins very rarely used.
